Spearmint, Hibiscus & Orange Iced Tea

Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp dried spearmint leaves
  • 1 litre hot water
  • 3 tbsp dried hibiscus petals
  • 1 litre hot water
  • 1 cinnamon stick (optional)
  • 1 cup fresh orange juice
  • (or orange–grapefruit blend)
  • Ice cubes
  • Optional:
  • Honey or maple syrup to taste

Directions

  1. Place spearmint leaves in a large jar or teapot.
  2. Pour 1 litre of just-boiled water over the leaves.
  3. Allow the tea to cool, then refrigerate overnight with the leaves still inside.
  4. In another container combine hibiscus petals and hot water.
  5. Add a cinnamon stick if using.
  6. Allow the tea to steep until cool, then refrigerate overnight.
  7. Juice fresh oranges (or a mix of orange and grapefruit).
  8. Refrigerate the juice overnight so everything is chilled and ready to mix.
  9. Fill a glass with ice.
  10. Add:
  11. • 250 ml spearmint tea
  12. • 250 ml fresh orange juice
  13. • 125 ml hibiscus tea
  14. Stir gently to combine.
  15. Serve chilled and enjoy immediately.
